Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lance called in advance. He was very kind and respectful to my 84 yrs old mother. He explained what he found, his treatment and expected results. He also said that if we see active insects after 2 weeks, to call for a follow up treatment. Make sure you keep Lance around for a long time of excellent customer service!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We highly recommend Coastal, but Tremaine in particular has always done a great job when doing the treatments for our house. He's incredibly thorough and pays close attention to the issues we describe. Not sure if you can request a specific technician, but if Tremaine happens to be the one that shows up, you should feel confident that he'll do excellent work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mr. Cedric is amazing and keeps our home pest free. He always has a kind word and listens to our "pest" concerns. My kids believe spiders, ants and rollie-pollies belong outside and with his handwork that is where they remain. Thank you.

Smithfield is a historic waterfront town known for its small-town charm, established neighborhoods, and deep agricultural roots. With older homes, crawl spaces, and proximity to the Pagan River, pest control in Smithfield requires local experience and an understanding of the area’s unique environmental conditions.

At Coastal Pest Control, we’ve proudly served Smithfield and the greater Hampton Roads area since 1993. With a centrally located local office, our technicians regularly service Smithfield properties and are familiar with the construction styles, moisture conditions, and seasonal pest pressures common throughout the town.

A Town with Deep History and Tradition

Smithfield is best known worldwide for its association with Smithfield Foods and the tradition of Smithfield-cured hams, which have been produced in the area for generations. This long-standing agricultural and food-processing heritage helped shape the town’s economy and identity and remains a point of pride for the local community today.

Smithfield also celebrates its food heritage with events like the Smithfield Bacon & Bourbon Festival, a popular gathering for bacon and BBQ lovers that highlights the town’s long-standing culinary traditions.

Located along the Pagan River, Smithfield’s waterfront setting has influenced both its development and its housing patterns. While scenic, the river and surrounding low-lying areas can contribute to elevated moisture levels, which may increase pest activity in nearby homes and structures if not properly addressed.

Pest Control Challenges in Smithfield

Due to its mix of historic homes, waterfront properties, and wooded surroundings, Smithfield properties often experience pest issues related to moisture and structure. We commonly treat:

Ant infestations around foundations and crawl spaces
Roaches that thrive in warm, humid environments
Moisture-related pests beneath older homes
Seasonal invaders during weather changes
Rodent activity near wooded and riverfront areas

Our pest control programs focus on prevention and long-term protection, tailored to Smithfield’s environment rather than generic treatments.

Serving Neighborhoods Throughout Smithfield

Smithfield includes a variety of neighborhoods and residential areas, each with its own characteristics. We provide pest control services throughout Smithfield, including:

Historic Downtown Smithfield
Pagan River waterfront areas
Cypress Creek
Moonefield
Benns Church area
Surrounding rural and residential communities

Whether you live in a historic home, a newer subdivision, or near the river, our technicians understand the local conditions that influence pest activity.

Residential & Commercial Pest Control in Smithfield

We provide dependable pest control services for a wide range of properties, including:

Single-family homes
Historic residences
Townhomes and subdivisions
Small businesses and offices

Many Smithfield homeowners choose our quarterly pest control programs to maintain consistent, year-round protection.

A Local Company You Can Trust

As a locally owned pest control company serving Hampton Roads for over 30 years, Coastal Pest Control is committed to honest service, dependable results, and long-term protection. Our familiarity with Smithfield’s history, housing styles, and waterfront environment allows us to deliver effective pest control solutions tailored to the community.
